Approaching Pluto

Pluto, less than one-fifth the diameter of the Earth and one-third the size of our Moon,
was discovered by astronomer Clyde William Tombaugh in 1930.
Pluto is far at the edge of the solar system, and little was known about this strange object that
was very different from the rest of the planets. New observations of our solar system
made it clear that Pluto was not the runt of our system,
but instead the king of a new class of icy worlds in the distant Kuiper Belt.
The New Horizons Spacecraft was the fastest mission ever launched
and still took nearly 10 years to reach this world. When it finally did in 2015,
it revealed a world of beauty and complexity beyond our imaginations.
This would is now yours to explore!

Pluto - the planet of love.
"Pluto - once a planet. Now something lessor than that. That is true for astronomers but not for “people who love”. With it weird heart shaped bit of geology Pluto is the dolor systems Valentine‘s Day card. (wow - that was a long intro). I bought the Pluto model as a gift of affection for my wife, the biggest heart in a 1009 light years from Earth to go with the model of the Moon I had given her (as in “I love you to the moon and back”). Now she has, by distance alone, proof of my undying love for her. Let others scream their sonnets from the mountaintops. I’ve got them beat by 4.678 billion miles!"

Beautiful design, augmented reality features are a nice addition
“The model is very detailed and beautiful. The augmented reality feature takes awhile to get familiar with, but it does offer nice close up shots of the surface of the planet. It comes in a nice display box as well. I would recommend it as a good, but not great, teaching tool for classrooms. The model’s augmented reality features increase its classroom utility due to the interactive nature of the app. Even without the app just holding and looking at the model can be instructive. Its also a very nice display piece if not being used in a classroom.”

Dwarf planet love
“The pluto model itself is beautiful. Very substantial feel and a nice weight. Wish they had a little Charon to go with it as those two seem to be in their own little world, so to speak.”
